A: Contact the sales representative for the area in which the project is being constructed. The representative will tell you what pressure is available and can provide you with a "Letter of Gas Availability".
A: The sooner Laclede Gas Company knows the better. The general contractor or authorized contact needs to contact a Laclede Gas Company sales representative to arrange for service. Early notification will allow Laclede Gas Company to coordinate installation of service with contractors to ensure timely completion.
A: Initially, Laclede Gas Company requires the approximate load, the pressure needed, the preferred meter location, the date to begin service, and copy of site plan. During construction the Laclede Gas Company representative will work with the authorized contact person to obtain additional information on existing utilities and meter installation.
A: Generally, the meter set is placed outdoors and the fuel line is run above ground into the building. The meter set shall be accessible to Laclede Gas Company service personnel and protected from accidental contact. A mounting pad may also be required. The size of this pad is based on the size and type of gas meter installed. If a high pressure meter is installed inside it must be vented to the outside.
A: For a delivery pressure greater than two psig, Laclede Gas Company requires a leak test performed by the contractor. Laclede Gas Company has two forms, one form for the customer to sign and another form for the contractor to sign indicating a successful pressure test has been completed. For pressures greater than five psig, inside usage restrictions apply, consult code manuals for specific application.
A: Laclede Gas Company personnel will obtain the necessary permits for the service installation and perform the actual installation.
