During the winter heating season (November through March), Laclede customers may be eligible for heating assistance funds or cold weather rule payment plans.
Cold Weather Rule
The Cold Weather Rule formally takes effect November 1 in Missouri. This program provides lenient budget payment plans for customers who are unable to pay their gas bills. The plan enables an eligible active customer to keep gas service by first making an initial payment and then making balanced monthly budget payments. For more information visit our Cold Weather Rule page.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
Beginning November 1, Laclede Gas customers will be eligible to apply for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding. This federal program helps families pay heating bills with grants during the coldest months in Missouri. For more information on the program guidelines or to see if you qualify, call United Way 2-1-1 for a referral to your local community action agency. Laclede Gas’ DollarHelp program provides grants year-round to LIHEAP eligible customers as long as funds are available. This program has provided much needed relief to local families for more than 30 years. St. Louisans lend a hand by checking the red box on their gas bill to donate one dollar a month to a neighbor in need. Last year, nearly 3,000 families kept the heat on thanks to DollarHelp funds. To donate to DollarHelp, Laclede Gas customers can check the red box on the bottom of their gas bill to donate $1 each month or visit www.DollarHelp.org.
