How to Calculate Your Bill
Detailed information is available on the left side of the monthly natural gas bill to better enable customers to see and analyze the individual components. The charge for gas service includes the amounts of the Monthly Customer Charge (pdf, 7.32KB) and the Infrastructure System Replacement Surcharge (ISRS), together with the two-tier, per-therm charge for natural gas used to calculate the "Gas Svc" portion of a bill based on usage.
For example, on a typical residential natural gas bill, if the "Charge for Gas Svc" is $29.06, based on summer rates (May through October) and 45 therms of use, the breakdown would be:
| Monthly Customer Charge | $19.50 |
| ISRS | $1.82 |
| 30 therms x | $35.72 |
| 15 therms x | $8.69 |
| Total Charge for Gas Service | $65.73 |
