A. E-bill is an Internet-based billing and payment option. Bills are electronically created and delivered over the Internet. Electronic payments are generated directly from your bank account. It is safe, convenient and offers the flexibility to manage your bills at any time and from anywhere.
A. You may log on to CheckFree to enroll for free or you may use one of the other online billing service providers, such as many banks, credit unions, brokerages and Internet portals. Some providers are free, and others charge a monthly fee for their service packages. You must provide personal information, including your financial institution data, a logon name and password to the online billing service provider.
After you complete the enrollment information or if you already are enrolled, select Laclede Gas as a "biller." You must enter your Laclede account number and the last name on your Laclede account for which you wish to receive an electronic bill so we can determine whether your enrollment can be accepted.
A. Once your request for e-bill service is accepted, Laclede will send billing information to your online billing service provider on the same schedule that our bills are created. The billing service provider will notify you via e-mail that your e-bill has arrived and direct you where to view and pay your electronic bill.
You can view and pay your bill online any time and schedule the payment for any date you select. The electronic payment is generated directly from your bank account on the date you specify. However, please be sure the payment is made in time to be received by Laclede by the due date. Check with your online billing service provider to find out the number of days it takes to process your payments. With most providers, it takes two to four business days to process the payment.
We rely on the online billing service providers to make your bill available to you at the proper time, just as we rely on the U.S. Postal Service to deliver our bills on time. If you believe your bill is not available when you expect it, call us.
If you have a zero balance or a credit balance, you will still receive a bill, but no due date will be listed for your account.
This service is currently available only to residential and some commercial customers. Customers who are not eligible to receive their bills electronically are:

We continue to read your gas meter each month and review your account in January and July. If your actual cost of gas used is significantly more or less than expected, your monthly budget payment amount will be adjusted accordingly.
A. Yes, with Easy-Pay and e-bill, your bill is paid directly from your checking or savings account, and you receive an e-bill every month to confirm the payment amount and date. Alternatively, you may also be able to arrange directly with your billing service provider to have your Laclede bill paid automatically each month.
A. If you change banks or open a new account at the same bank, you must update that information with your online billing service provider.
