Laclede Gas Company today filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission (MoPSC) to lower its existing rates. If the MoPSC approves this request, the typical residential heating customer’s natural gas bill will be 17% lower compared to existing rates. The decrease will reduce the typical residential customer’s winter season heating bill by 2% compared to last year.
In addition, Laclede estimates that it has saved its customers more than $20 million during the past year through certain sales of gas and pipeline capacity and the purchase of gas supply under favorable pricing terms and conditions.
Laclede Gas Company, a subsidiary of The Laclede Group (NYSE: LG), has provided safe and reliable service to the residents of the St. Louis metropolitan area for more than 150 years. It is the largest gas distribution company in Missouri, serving more than 630,000 natural gas customers in St. Louis and surrounding counties in Eastern Missouri.
