Laclede Gas Customers Enjoy Rebates and Savings During Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday
The Laclede Gas Residential Rebate Program, along with federal tax credits and the Show-Me Green sales tax holiday (April 19-25), provide customers with the perfect opportunity to purchase high-efficiency natural gas appliances

With tax refunds received or expected, the Missouri Show-Me Green sales tax holiday (April 19-25) is the perfect time for Laclede Gas residential customers to invest in high-efficiency natural gas appliances. Recently, natural gas water heaters were added to Laclede’s rebate program to give customers even more incentive to utilize clean, efficient natural gas in their daily routine.
The Missouri Show-Me Green sales tax holiday (April 19-25) allows consumers to purchase an ENERGY STAR appliance without being charged the state’s 4.225% sales tax. Only the first $1,500 of the appliance cost is subject to this allowance. In addition, certain counties, cities, and districts will participate in this sales tax holiday by waiving their local sales tax. Customers who purchase and install an ENERGY STAR natural gas water heater are eligible for a number of incentives from Laclede Gas and federal government, as well. Customers can apply for up to a $200 rebate from Laclede in connection with the purchase of a water heater with an Energy Factor greater than or equal to .82. Additionally, the federal government is providing a non-refundable tax credit of $300 in connection with the purchase and installation of a unit carrying the same Energy Factor.
Here’s how the savings* could add up for a customer purchasing and installing a new ENERGY STAR natural gas tankless water heater:

Customers who purchase and install an ENERGY STAR natural gas furnace are also eligible for the same incentives and may apply for a $150-$200 rebate from Laclede Gas in connection with the purchase of a furnace with an AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) rating of 92% or higher.
Here’s how the savings* could add up for a customer installing a new ENERGY STAR-rated furnace with an AFUE rating of 96%:

Details on the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday can be found at http://dor.mo.gov. Consumers are encouraged to contact their retailer or HVAC contractor to see if and how they are participating in this sales tax holiday.
