Laclede Gas Company, in partnership with the Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club, will conduct a free seminar on Tuesday, March 29 to discuss low-income energy assistance, free home weatherization, and energy conservation and safety. The seminar will start at 6 p.m. at Roosevelt High School, 3230 Hartford Street 63118. While the program is intended for residents who live near the school, any customer is welcome to attend.
This program is part of the Laclede Gas/Mathews-Dickey community outreach program called "Reach Out St. Louis!" A team of Laclede Gas personnel will be on hand with technology that will allow them to quickly access customer accounts and answer account-related questions on the spot.
In attendance will also be representatives from the Human Development Corporation (HDC) and the Urban League of St. Louis. HDC will provide applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and assist with completing qualifying applications for low-income energy assistance. LIHEAP is a federally funded block grant that provides money to help low-income households make home heating more affordable and avoid shutoff of utility services during the winter. Laclede works closely with the Missouri congressional delegation in seeking continued federal funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The Urban League will provide details on how to qualify and apply for free home weatherization services while those funds are still available.
Laclede encourages customers to “Check a Red Box” to contribute to Dollar-Help, a heating-assistance fund designed to help those less fortunate pay their utility bills, regardless of the heating source.
A subsidiary of The Laclede Group (NYSE: LG), Laclede Gas Company has provided safe and reliable service to the residents of the St. Louis metropolitan area for more than 150 years. It is the largest gas distribution company in Missouri, serving nearly 630,000 natural gas customers in St. Louis and surrounding counties in Eastern Missouri.
